Directions to Forbes Island

 
  • There is no vehicle passage via a road or bridge to Forbes Island on Bradford Island!
  • Guests must arrive via the Bradford Island Car Ferry (operational midday) or a private captained passenger boat that can be arranged by the host (for an additional fee)
  • Boats schedule is subject to change

  1. Stop at the Valero Gas station and purchase two (2) tickets per vehicle for a ride on the Ferry to and from Bradford island. (address: 1541 E Cypress Rd, Oakley, CA 94561)
  2. Drive east on Cypress rd and take a left at Jersey Island rd (Jersey Island Rd, Oakley, CA 94561)
  3. Continue through the gate on Jersey rd and arrive at the Bradford Island Ferry West Landing to board the ferry with your vehicle
  4. After arriving at Bradford Ferry East Landing, drive right until you see Forbes Island on your right
  5. Park in the driveway adjacent to the venue (never park on the levee road)

About Us

Forbes Thor Kiddoo came to San Francisco in 1959 after a stint in the Coast Guard. A carpenter and engineer, he developed a business constructing houseboats in Sausalito. Then, inspired by Jules Verne’s Captain Nemo and the movie version of “20,000 Leagues Under The Sea”, Forbes Kiddoo built himself this underwater home.
